My name is Libby. I am Virginia’s cousin and darling Pippa’s Godmother. Over the years Gin and I have shared many wonderful times and helped each other through some difficult situations. She is like a sister to me and Pippa; another daughter. I have William and Claudia, who adore their ‘cousins’ – the lovely James, Patrick and Pippa.
I have the complete and utter privilege to be part of the journey that this beautiful family have embarked upon. I have been in family meetings, Dr’s appointments, social worker appointments, Ronald McDonald House, MRI machines, at Peter Mac, in hospital rooms, cafeterias, and the list goes on…
In the midst of all of the chaos, quiet, sadness, laughter, confusion and love is the most incredible person I know. Virginia Rea. She has taken on the most difficult task any mother has had to face with grace and beauty. Her children come first and foremost. Her explanations are delivered with patience and kindness. Pippa is handled with love, care and most importantly, respect.
All of Virginia’s decisions are made with attention to detail, thought and consideration for others. Her openness and generosity of spirit and genuine care of other people is extraordinary. She has fought many battles on her own and won; the biggest to date being the wonderful parent she is.
I ask all of her friends, her family and anyone reading this to please take some time out of your day to raise a glass to this amazing, resilient, beautiful woman. She will fight this battle along side of Pippa, with strength, dignity, wisdom and love and she won’t stop until she gets the result she wants.
Libby
that was the most beautifully written piece.
She is very lucky to have such wonderful people in her life like you.
People that don’t even know them are praying for them and wishing them
all the best. xx Gail and Guy

Virginia is extraordinary and this can easily be seen by how marvellously Pippa, James and Patrick are coping with this chaotic situation.

Dearest Libby – I have just read your beautiful tribute to my wonderful Virginia. I have watched the way you have supported her and have had the greatest admiration for your dedication and kindness. I wish I could take all the heartache from Virginia and you (also a wonderful Mum), and carry Pippa through the journey she is facing, but all I can do is say thankyou to you (and Susie) and to all those whose messages of support will be treasured throughout the days ahead of us all.

Virginia,
So sorry to hear about pippa, if there is anything I can do just let me know whether the boys need to be looked after or you need someone to talk to, though I’m sure everyone has offered.
If anyone can pull through it pippa can. She’s one of the most detieman girls I know, always trying to go to bed the same time as Patrick and James. Best wishes Virginia.
Give pip a hug and a kiss for me.
Lots of love Taylor xxxxxxxx
I will drink to that. What amazing words from also an amazing person [KP talks about you all the time] and even though I have never met you or virginia I feel like I know you through KP. We are all in the background of this journey with you, Pippa, Virginia and all those who have been touched by this gorgeous brave little girl! Sending strength and love to you all! xx Jackie
