Pippa's Journey with a Brain Tumour

A Day of Christmas

We leave Melbourne soon and I had promised Pippa that we would do some fun things beforehand so she had a good think about what she would like to do………

Number one on her list was to buy her brothers their Christmas present.  With that in mind I thought seeing as that required a visit to DJs then why not have a day of Christmas Cheer?  We looked at the City Decorations and the Myer Christmas Windows, the Gingerbread display at the Town Hall, the Christmas Village decorations at the City Square and the amazingly spectacular Crown Towers Christmas Show with its enormous Christmas Tree.  Patrick was our photographer for the day and he didn’t know which way to point the camera – there was so much to look at we had to watch the show twice.  We finished off with a buffet lunch that left us bursting at the seams!

Pippa was tucked up in bed nice and early, so utterly exhausted but completely happy.  When I went in she was talking in her sleep about gingerbread houses and big Christmas trees.  When I asked her if she was was dreaming about her day she mumbled, “yes Mummy, it was wonderful.”

Good Doses of……

This week we have needed good doses of sunshine, smiles and laughter.  Patrick’s antics keep us continually entertained and one day his amazingly, unbelievable, you-will-never-believe-how-I-can-do-it “magic tricks” with uno cards had our gorgeous nurse, Jessie, in stitches whilst we were waiting for Pippa to come out of treatment.  Jessie sees us most days and she loves spending time with our little family.  Our good doses this week have come to us in the form of Melanie, another requested visit from Yarra & time with the Spence family.  Sometimes you need just the right fit and Tuesday night the Spence family was the perfect fit for us.

I’m feeling a bit of a kissing theme going on this week………….Why not?  Who wouldn’t want to smooch gorgeous little Pippa?……….I tell Pippa kisses are magic.

Armelle

After Chloe popped down briefly the Sunday before Pippa needed another special visit.  A day of her gorgeous Armelle was required.  We arranged for Armelle to come down and just be by her side on Sunday.  They didn’t do much; just hung out.  We went for a walk, had frozen yoghurt and found a couple of Christmas Trees for photos.  Armelle has always been Pippa’s special friend; the first friend she made when we moved to Warrnambool eight years ago and they have been joined at the hip since.  It was lovely for them to spend the day together.

And thanks to Patrick, we were all treated to a special bout of poolside entertainment that certainly brought the well needed doses of laughter and smiles!
